The Echinacea plants were first used by Native Americans as a herbal remedy to cure illnesses and soothe skin disorders. It was used by tribes to treat snake bites and fight infections.
Echinacea flowers have been shown to improve immunity, blood sugar, anxiety, inflammation and skin health. Echinacea tea is a floral, sweet beverage that can help satisfy your sweet tooth and improve mood.
And I just love how they look...,
how happy they seem, reaching for the sky. I love their bright magenta petals , topped with orange seed centers....
This field of echinaceas is adjacent to our property in Michigan, right next to vines. The amazing thing is that they act like weeds … they just expand every year. This past summer was spectacular! I spent many lazy summer afternoons, basking in the warmth of a mild northern sun, laying on the grass, just staring and marveling at these beauties. I took dozens of photos and began sketching this painting……. I only continued working on it when I got back to Dallas and finally I finished it.
Now I love looking at it, allowing the memory of those moments to invade my consciousness, the sun, the warmth, the beauty and the joy. I hope you too can feel it too…. Enjoy my « Field o of Healings »
